Carville is an American political consultant and the co-host of the "Politics War Room" podcast. Previously, he served as lead strategist for Bill Clinton's 1992 presidential campaign. Carville is an 8-time New York Times bestselling author.

Smith is the co-founder of The Texas Tribune. Previously, he spent nearly 18 years at Texas Monthly, including eight years as editor and a year as president and editor-in-chief.
